The Indiana Supreme Court has now accepted the certified question from the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals about whether the National Collegiate Athletic Association's method of allocating seat's to the NCAA's Final Four basketball games and other tournaments constitutes an illegal lottery under Indiana law.  A description of the opinion from the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, based in Chicago, is here.  The Indiana Supreme Court, like the NCAA, is based in Indianapolis and has also decided that the matter warrants oral argument, which the Court scheduled for December 22.
